Parking:  Please review the map below.  Parking will be available on 2nd St north of Victor Ave and Diamond Ave east of 2nd St.

Weigh-in:  begins 10:00 am.  See map on page 5 for location.

Start:  12:00 pm

Race Description: 

What better venue for a burro race than Victor CO, steeped in gold mining history!  This 6.7 mile route was devised by Gary Horton, a local to the area and instrumental in helping to bring a burro race back to Victor.  It includes some climbs, fantastic views, and historic structures galore!  The map below provides the race route with approximate mile markers.  Below the map is elevation data. No AID STATIONS

Prize Summary:

Cash prize money will be awarded through 8th place.  

1st Place Overall - 1 ounce silver coin ($20 value) + $250

2nd 1 ounce silver coin ($20 value) + $200

3rd $175

4th $150

Nicest Ass:

All racing burros will be entered into the “Nicest Ass” drawing.  One name will be drawn and the winner’s human running partner will receive $100 for having the “Nicest Ass”.  This is a very prestigious award!

The map below provides parking, staging and start/finish information as follows:

  1. Designates off street parking areas on either side of the road (2nd St and Hwy 67/Diamond Ave).  Please note that the streets should be open to through traffic.  Overflow parking is available a few blocks further east on Diamond Ave at the heliport (right side of Ave) as needed.

  2. Designates registration and weigh-in table.  Table opens approximately 10 am. 

  3. Staging area for racers (3rd St south of Victor Ave).  We want to keep Victor Ave open to traffic until just prior to the start.

      The Flag Denotes the start/finish line.  When we line up to start the race, we will be pointing west on Victor Ave.

4.  Post race gathering area (3rd St north of Victor Ave).  There will be post race food and beverages available.  Post race awards will commence when a majority of participants have completed the course
